Hands on a keyboard on a white desk with the text: after publishing checklist.

As a food blogger, after publishing a post it is important to do a few things to help your recipe post get seen on Google and Social Media.

Hands on a keyboard on a white desk with the text: after publishing checklist.

This checklist is a bit simpler than the others I created. My most comprehensive checklist is the Publishing a Recipe Checklist with over 30 action items listed. The Recipe Research Checklist goes into more detail about keyword research.

    Completing the Post

Although the post has been published, there are a few steps to take after posting a recipe to make sure you don't have orphaned content on your website and to complete the recipe.

    • Go back to 2-3 similar posts and link back to your new post.
    • After posting add 5 stars to the recipe card.
    • Add the post to the homepage.
    • Create Google Web Story.

    Social Media

You may or may not use all the social media platforms, but I've included the most popular ones below. Feel free to edit your checklist to only include the ones you use.

Don't forget, these are just suggestions for you to create your own customized list after publishing a blog post. I'd love to hear if I should add anything to this list! Please comment or email me to let me know!

The PDF below will have the simplified version of this blog post. Remember to check out my Publishing a Post checklist and Recipe Research checklist.
